Aurora’s Brave Fight Against Neuroblastoma

At Mom Crew, we believe that being a mom means standing together. It means lifting each other up in moments of joy and heartbreak alike. Because when one mom cries, we all cry. Today, we want to share the story of a little girl named Aurora, whose strength and light remind us why this community exists.
A Family’s Unexpected Battle
On Saturday, March 22, 2025, Jessica and Joey noticed something every parent dreads - a lump near their baby’s eye, bruising underneath, and persistent fevers. They rushed their 11-month-old daughter Aurora to the Children’s Hospital, hoping for reassurance.
Instead, their world changed forever. After an MRI and several tests, doctors delivered the heartbreaking news:
Aurora had been diagnosed with high-risk stage 4 neuroblastoma cancer. No parent is ever prepared to hear those words.
Further scans revealed masses on her kidney and near her eye. Since that day, Aurora has undergone countless procedures: x-rays, MRIs, ultrasounds, biopsies, bone-marrow tests, and blood transfusions. Each one has tested her tiny body but has also shown her enormous spirit.
The Road Ahead
Aurora’s treatment plan is long and intense. It includes multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation therapy, stem-cell transplants, surgery, and immunotherapy with alternating inpatient and outpatient stays.
Recently, her doctors shared that her bones are not responding to chemotherapy as hoped, extending her treatment by another six months. Even through pain and exhaustion, Aurora continues to smile, radiating a strength that moves everyone around her.
When Aurora turned one on April 17, her parents imagined celebrating with cake, laughter, and friends. Instead, they spent her birthday in a hospital room, isolated but surrounded by love and hope. Jessica and Joey are doing everything they can to keep their family’s spirits high and their home filled with faith, even in the hardest moments.
